Afternoon

I'm in the middle of doing seals on both front and rear sunroof in disco 2.
Presumed rear motor was dead and planned on replacing.
Plugged the front motor in the rear and this doesn't work.
But when either motors are in the front they work.

Are they on 2 seperate fuses, ive checked the fuse it states online which is ok? Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi, no separate fuse, both motors are managed by the sunroof ECU directly, didnt you accidentaly push the isolation switch? if not remove it and bridge the wires to rule it out

I've tried from both the front and the rear switches no different. Gonna hazard a guess at the ecu. But will try this first

The motors are hardwired to the ECU so if the front works and the rear doesnt it can be interrupted wire or faulty ECU as the feed is common so is the earth

Turned out rear motor was dead.
Looks as if the rear mechanism isn't for working.
Tried the front motor in the rear without attaching to the frame and it spins fine. As soon as I bolt it in place you can hear it attempting but nothing moves.
So will have to strip the mechanism now...

I have the same issue with both my sunroofs! The armature and motor looks spotless and brushes fine, but the gear and red discs are solid! anyone know how to dismantle before I start?
