whatever
found the cause of the nasty vibration, rear uj was big style foobard had a uj come out today and the rear prop come off diff end , nearly **** myself, put new uj,s in the back prop, but i dont know what went wrong all clips were in properly,i double checked, one of the caps was tight as hell to get in,thinking fooked yolk,i just dont know how it failed but glad it was not at speed

Maybe one of the pins fell out when you put it together. Happened to me but wasnt happy with fit so took it apart and noticed the pin had fell out. Also had some that the grease hasnt reached each set of rollers when re greasing. Taken then apart and one was rusty and bone dry

+1 replaced every UJ prior to big off road trip last summer, yet on fitting some I wasnt happy with the feel of them so split them down to find misplaced rollers.
Refitted with rollers in place with loads of grease and still running fine even after few thousand miles.
On two of the old joints I removed I found broken rollers so although they were not giving any grief yet they were bound to end in disaster if I hadnt replaced them!.
They dont cost much if in doubt replace and then keep um greased :)

took it to bar props a specialist in Neath,NR Swansea, they said the same could be a jammed roller but found the yolk was worn so,left the prop with them its not been fun driving in difflock all day, anyway they say they have seen loads of gkn failures, even though gkn owns hardy spicer the HS uj,s are of much better quality
so 2 x new hardy spicers fitted
new yolk fitted
prop filled with new grease
balanced
all in for 60 quid, got home took about 3/4 hour but now back on and all good again

I found similar in mine...

I am doing my rear prop shaft at the moment and its solid one side just does not move but after reading this im thinking of getting a new one

if i could get the retaining clips out they are rusted solid
bloody things
will leave them in soak for few days

Hit the cap with an hammer & drift and knock it down. It'll release the pressure on the circlip.
