Evening all

So driving home this evening my missus decided to open the rear n/s passenger window. There was a crunching sound and the window is stuck about 4 inches down. Had to laugh because it was where she was sitting and it was blowing a gale with driving rain directly at her for the rest of the journey but she obviously didn't see the funny side of it.

Anyway the point is I'm assuming the cables have broken so new regulator time, which I assume is a relatively similar procedure to the tailgate regulator I've not long done. I've had a hunt through RAVE and can't find anything about changing the rear passenger regulators, only front 3 door, front 5 door and tailgate.

So what I'm really after is whether the procedure for the rear passenger regulator is in RAVE and if so what section or advice on where the fixings for the rear door card are. I had a quick look when we got back but it's dark and hammering it down and I couldn't see any.

Don't worry, I found it...It's in doors.

Kind of obvious now I think of it.

Repair kits are available for the regulators. What happens is the cable slips off the drive drum and the thing then chews itself into a knot. The cable has a couple of plastic fixings where the outer cable stops, its these that you can hear breaking. In my opinion, buy the whole regulator, the price is not much different. The fastening where the regulator bolts to the frame of the window is best reached with the window about 80% down. Good luck, sing out if anything else doesn't make sense.

Repair kits are easiest fitted to rear doors in my experience so probably worth giving it a try. Loads of videos on youtube showing how to do it.

Thanks guys

To be honest I kind of fancy the repair route but it's too close to Christmas.

Regulator it is at £ 18.90 delivered tomorrow. Same place I bought the tailgate one.
