Good Afternoon

Have recently purchased a D4 that needs a few bits and pieces done but yesterday failed the MOT on rear brake pads

The Main Dealer stated that due to having to be prepared electronically pads changed and then reset electronically the sum £325 could be expected

Can the forum advise if the EPB needs to be “touched” if just changing the rear pads please

Read through some earlier listings which mentions Bodsey Bible but am unable to locate the link

Any advice would be appreciated

Kind Regards

Not on the L322. But the D3/4 is mechanically the same.

But what part did it fail, brakes or handbrake?

Is that just the price for pads or are discs included?

But then the price of labor these days I have no idea.

Afternoon Marjon

Thanks for coming back to us

Just the rear pads but they said it needs to be reset afterwards with their diagnostic machine

Yes parts & labour

Kind Regards

Google bodsys brake Bible, its right there to download mate

They'll use diagnostics to retract electric motors on the back of the calipers, you can do this with a 9v battery and some wire

No if its rear pads only its a 10 min job. If its parking brake shoes that can take 30 mins a side you do not HAVE to reset yhe epb.

New handbrake shoes should be run through a bed in process. So JLR say,but 🤔

Just rear pads, as you say.

They are pulling your ****er ref the diagnostics etc.

If it has aluminium rear calipers be aware the pistons can seize.

Iv never done the bedding in procedure either for all 3 of mine with epb when iv done parking brakes shoes.
The rear pads are honestly 10 mins a side and if you need to replace a caliper that's 2 more bolts 5 more minutes and x2 presses of yhe brake peddle to bleed it out.

We love a main dealer on this site.
