Hi, looking for advice, The rear heated screen in my RRS isn't working. Switch. Relay, Fuse, and window heating element are all working, I'm thinking a broken wire at the rear hatch, trouble is I don't know where to look, and the colour code of wire. Any help much welcomed, Thanks in advance

Hi

what year is it please , may i ask what did u use to test everything and what Vdc have u got at the rear screen , cheers

Switch ok, the fuse was changed, relay swapped for same in another circuit both relays where working, waiting for better weather to test connections at rear hatch under spoiler, hoping it as simple as bad connector

Daft question if I may , did u use a multimeter to prove they were 100% and what year is ur RRS sport please

has any diagnostics been plugged in

know these L320 are electrical heavy so indeed multimeter is a bare minimum because it can also be the ground side , or power loss, continuity etc

What about the wires passing between the body and top boot lid? Maybe a break in the loom at that point. The multi meter is a must tool.

A test lamp is also needed as a DVM is so sensitive it can show a voltage that will disappear under load.

Agreed, I have one of those. They are good at finding the light wires on different cars for tow bars when not using a none genuine or smart box.
