Hi All, appreciate some advice if anyone can help please and have search the threads for similar issues but to no avail.

I have a Defender TD5 90 2000 (pre dash change), its been SORN for nearly a year and only done 50 miles since last years MOT, Ive just had an MOT failure on the rear fog light not working. The light on the dash comes on to show the light is on when making the switch, I've tested both the fuse and bulb and had a look at the bulb holder and connections and all seem fine, the wires leave the fog light and go into a conduit with a bunch of other wires all which appear ok. Any ideas what I can look at next? other than mouse eating through the wire somewhere I can't think of much else and am not a vehicle electrician by any stretch of the imagination, all the other systems seem fine. Thanks in advance. Cheers.

The plugs going to the bulb holders do corrode. One pin on bulb holder goes black and causes issues
Many thanks I'll check it tomorrow.
These are good for testing for voltage, clip it do a good earth and stick the pointy end onto the ,hopefully, live wire.
Thanks very much for all the help and advice!

Let us know how you get on.
If you get a live up to the bulb you can fit a temp earth wire to any good earth to bypass the problem for the MOT.
You can then look for the problem at you leisure.

Great idea, thanks. I actually understand that idea and will try it if the terminals on the fitting are ok.

Update..... In addition to all the above there is 12v at the fuse in the cab but only 0.7v at both the bulb holder and also the connector at the rear of it.
