Rear door glass stuck and beeping when alarmed. Currently in the position it would be for slight drop to open.

Now if I unplug battery and it can resume normal operation for a few weeks. Takes some messing about raising lowering to get it to kick into action. Almost like something reset.

I've left it it like this cos at least it always opens, have had situation when its working but then cant open the door for no apparent reason one day.

I'm at a loss as what to replace.

1) wires look good
2) windows when "reset" will go up and down normally so surely not regulator.

My feeling is it might be switch in door handle but want to be 100% before spend on a new one.

Hi,

I would suspect that there is a switch in the latch machanism that tell the electrics module when the door is shut, so that the glass can be raised.

When the door is closed, does the door open warning light go off, on the dash?

This is odd thing, door is shut no warning, glass slightly lowered. Beep when locking.

Now if I disconnect battery, try reset sometimes it will come good. I've had done this before and it not work, then closed door, pulled glass and it started working. Sometimes driving around will fix it which make me think something loose, corroded sensor or door lock.

I just can't isolate the component.

Its worth checking the wiring loom that passes from the body work to the door, on the hinged side. The wires have a tendency of breaking due to the movement of opening an closeing the door.

its the tail gate motor well not the actual motor but the count segments [a kind of crude encoder] its fitted in the motor gearbox so you need to change the whole lot [its a right pain]
