hi to all finally got round to fitting front axle now everythings got nice and quiet... ? well as quiet as a 200tdi disco can be! got a minor niggle with the rear door central locking, checked for power on the wires that go to solenoid but getting no power feed at all. the cables don't seem broken where they come into door. wondering if anyone has come across this problem or better still if anyone knows of a decent wiring diagram for the central locking system. the locking works fine on the front 2 doors just won't lock, unlock rear door? cheers guys

I assume you tried to unlock/lock the central locking while you were looking behind the pannel,

I just had problems, thought it was the contral locking till I realised the solenoid was working, I was missing a spring in the back door latch, changed the latch now its sorted.

It happened to me mates. He changed the solenoids and all sorts of things. It turned out the return spring for the handle had slipped off, so the handle didn't return giving the impression the door wasn't unlocking.

Cost to actually finally fix? Free, he used a pair of pliers to bend the spring (bit like the spring off a wooden clothes peg) slightly so it was in the proper place

Pull of the land rover badge, blast in there with WD40, give it some time, and try, it, if not its the release spring.

Power, was this test done while you pressed the fob? Its only powered when locking/unlocking.

Sorry Guys Should Have Been Clearer. Yes I Did Check The Power Whilst Locking/unlocking Car. The Door Can Be Unlocked Manually By Lifting The Button Inside The Car Likewise Locked The Same Way But The Car Can Only Be Locked/unlocked With The Alarm From Outside None Of The Keys Do Anything They Just Spin. The Previous Owner Told Me He Disconnected The Front Door Barrels To Make The Car More Secure? But Says The Key Never Did Anything In The Rear Door Whilst He Had It. However The Rear Door Did Work On The Cenral Locking. Need To Figure This Out Cos Must Look A Complete Pillock Getting Into Car At Supermarket And Climbing Over Seats To Unlock Rear Door.

When I look at the solenoit when it works all it does is pop and then sink back down again, it relies on the mecanisum to hold open. If you are metering the feed for the solenoit then you may not see anything as it will be a short butst of power that the multimeter may not be able to keep up with,
