Hi guys so I took my td5 off the road a few months ago to sort a few things out. So I need some advice on this one what's the best way to repair the rust on the rear chassis rails?

You can buy a rear chassis in different lengths or separate repair sections depending on your need.

One of 4 ways?

1. Repair the areas with patches!
2. Repair in sections Left or Right side?
3. Replace quarter section?
4. Replace half chassis?

The choice is yours!
I replaced mine with Half Chassis a couple of years ago now? It took a couple of weekends to do💪🤪

If you can get the bits, i could not get a half chassis in time for mot so had to get a lot of patch welding done.

Going to get loan for chassis in late autumn

As above, how far down the rails has it corroded? I had a rear quarter done a year ago as mine was still good upto the fuel filter although it did need a patch on the crossmember which is hidden by the fuel tank. There's plenty of threads on here along with youtube videos on this type of repair so you know what's involved, best of luck.
