May be a dumb question - have just bought a rear bumper off Marketplace to replace the smashed one on my 2003 Disco 2 - assume there is no difference between pre and post facelift rear bumpers? Can you buy the wrong one? Car not with me at present but it looks the same to me!

Should be the same!

Same problem a few years ago, picked up 2003 bumper for my 1999 D2👍

Now changed it for steel one last year!
Plastic bumpers don't like bollards 😅🤣

Bit off topic, but only slightly, on my D2 both the piece of trim on the nearside just above the bumper, on the corner is part smashed in and bits meissing, also the plastic above the number plate where the handle sits.
It wouldnt't open one day, yet again, and in my anger I punched it and rather bust it. I kept all the bits but there are loads. (I was unaware until someone told me that the repair is the same as for the D1 i.e. prise out the Land rover oval in the handle and spray the internal lock area with WD40 until it starts working again, which it now does. )
I am just wondering if I can get a replacement for this, on its own. (The other thing I have managed to find although it isn't cheap.)

Very off topic 😅🤣😂 (Bumper v Handle!!)

You can only try! If not working send back or sell to D2 owner?
I'm sure a couple of days/weeks will not hurt mate!

Tthey have both been like it for months, both protected with black gaffer tape, which seems to be keeping the lock mechanism dry.
