need to renew rear discs and pads can any one tell me if this is a easy job for a novice,,, and wot diffeculties am i likely to counter....any replise greatly recived

D1, 2 or what, the answers will be different and get yourself a Haynes Manual for your disco, how to do the work is shown there.

Easy job!

Unless your brake pipes are rotten and might break when you take the calipers off (you have to tie them out of the way supported).

I would change the wheel bearings and seals at the same time.

Brakes are easy if you know what your doing but if you don't & you can have serious problems with your life or mine!!

Not trying to scare you but if you don't have a clue leave it to somebody who does.
