Well, this is a world wide forum, so tell us (about) where you are
located. Each country has different resources! <g> The best (easiest,
actually) swaps are those that came from similar vehicles, you are not
going to swap a big Cummins, or Duramax, or PS into a small truck
(would be interesting, however, if you did).
Were this me, I'd consider looking for an old Benz diesel (they are
more common). It would take a bit of fabrication, but those engines
were not too bad considering. You would need to get the entire drive
train (engine, accessories and transmission) for best results. Buy an
old, body beat or wrecked, complete running vehicle, strip out what
you want, and junk the rest.
