I have been loading the RAVE manuals for a few years without any issues. But a couple of days ago they stopped loading. The iso mounts OK and opening the folder shows the rave.exe file. Normally double clicking on this brings up an Adobe Acrobat 4.0 splash screen that quickly transitions to the "CarParc"
However, now the splash screen just vanishes and nothing loads.
Running it as Administrator makes no difference, nor does running it in compatibility mode for Win8 or Win7.
I thought this might be an Acrobat compatibility issue, so checked I was using the latest version - I was. I uninstalled it, downloaded another copy and installed that - no change. I uninstalled it again and tried an alternative pdf reader(Foxit) - no change. I uninstalled that and tried unsuccessfully to download a copy of Acrobat 4.0; oldest version I could find was 8.0, so I installed that making sure that it was the default reader for pdfs - no change.
I downloaded alternate RAVE iso files and tried them - no change.
Fortunately, RAVE still runs on a standalone Win7 laptop I use for the VIDA DiCE diagnostic tools I use on the Volvo, but if there are any gurus out there it would be useful to get it back on my normal laptop.
