Hi All
hope someone can help
my old rangy I turned her off last night been driving fine, then this morning she wont start, turns over fine just no go.
wiped of the manifold, glow plugs are ok.
Have heard there is a cold start valve?
any clues please

it has been getting harder to start from cold over the last couple of days if that's any help

parked it on an incline its not low on fuel 1/2 plus tank
can see a bit of air on clear fuel pipes should that be there
have already replaced low pressure returns from injectors

Sounds like lift pump has failed does it have low power on hills. You need to remove glow plugs to test them 12 volt feed does not mean they are working. You need working glows on at the very least three consecutively firing cylinders to get anything like a start.

look in wammers post in the technical section.
disconnect the fuel pipe to pump and switch on ignition and see if any fuel is pumped through

thanks for that
going to get a newer one tomorrow as live in the sticks and cant be without a motor
would prefer to sell the old girl going as shes got loads of life yet rather than the scrapyard

Air in the pipe is poss the return pipes ,bleed off on injectors ....But where it joins on the back of the pump is the most common fail point ...Now check the pipes once running ,and the pipes can fail inside the braiding ,had them fail 3 months from new,,but check pump and if not working ,try banging the tank .it might work for a short time...;)
