Hello - New Member. I know there are loads of threads on this, but so much information I do not know where to start?! I am not mechanically minded so all I know is that it tends to cost me a fortune every time I take the car in?!
Had this problem exactly a year ago. Compressor was changed in Nov 2018. Battery replaced in March 2010 and has been fine since then.
On Monday I took car for a puncture repair. Tyre guy asked me to raise suspension, then jacked it up and fixed puncture. As soon as I drove off, the dreaded suspension fault warning came up.
Lights go off on centre console and cannot raise or lower suspension.
Every time I switch car on - lights come back on - often with lights on right hand side signalling that I am raising or lowering suspension. Think you can hear the compressor and then the fault pings up.
Have taken it to my local independent (Harris Mayes) - he says that it must be air leaks and the compressor might be burned out by trying to keep it level. He said that rear nearside was much lower than rear offside.
Might need 2 new air struts (or whatever they are called) and potentially a new compressor, which is really annoying me because I paid 600 to have one fitted a year ago?!
Seems a little strange that it happened straight after the puncture repair.
Any thoughts?
