All I get on the TV is static checked the "pal" is set to uk version, any ideas people?

Yes, all analogue TV has been switched off, the country is now entirely digital. You'll need to source either a digital tv (Freeview) tuner compatible with your kit or find a 12V STB with an analogue modulator output or fit a seperate one from the Scart output.
DVB as a transmission standard isn't designed for mobile use like DAB so unlike analogue that would fade in and out and ghost digital may just cut in and out, when it's good it's great but when it isn't it's non existant.

did`nt know that, but my daughter S type - type R version Jag never worked either on TV..
know why now....
problem solved on her Jag..
sold it for a handfull of £50 notes,
the same as she paid for it 12 months previous..
fabulous car, but sooooo dear to run....
