amber light showed then red as we tryed to reset the suspension. now the suspension doesnt do anything. so i went to my local landy garage as it was a mystery to me he then put it on there machine. it came up with an electrical fault ! he said i should try at the cheap end so he said change the height level module so i have. the picture on my dash tv has changed from the back wheels being down to level, now the suspension is still dead nothing at all. i got a no special programs.before... ok i have park brake fault a switch general electric failure at U2002-01 and transfur case fault u0132-86(2f) lost communication with ride level control module-bus signal message failure.. plus the main fault C1A00-54(AF) CONTROL MODULE-SYSTEM PROGRAMING FAILURE. missing calibration .? do i now have to take it back to the landy garage for it to be reprogrammed. or is there something else i should do or change before i take it. because its miles from my home and its not fun driving on no suspension. i hope some one can shine light on this as i have no knowledge with sports or disco running gear. thanks in advance phil

i have taken this problem to a local 4x4 garage they put it on a diagnostics machine. after they tryed alsorts they told me they took the ecu files out and sent them to another diagnostics place they then did something to the program and sent it back.. he then put it back on the car and has now managed to get the car to normal height.after reprograming the clusters and height module to the car. but thats all i get .for 170 quid!!. he now said my steering rack is going bad cause its harder than normal to turn, plus he said the ecu wownt take recalibration maybe because the wheel alignment needs sorting. cause he cant find anything else. so im having the wheels all done. but im not holding my breath. im really at a loss

still not sorted it. any one got a clue still red came on all the time. saying electric fault. 30 miles max. so i noticed the front cross over block clicking so put new one on. still red. sat on blocks by this time. had car plugged in a few codes came up. height module so changed that one.at right side under dash. nothing so took it to local rr garage all they could do after charging me 180 pounds. all they could do is get the suspension up to normal height. still no special programs and red. but they coded the new module so some thing. i then bought a service kit for the compressor. tryed compressor on a battery before putting it on the car.it worked good. then put it on the car, connected the wiring pugs but not the air lines to test it. it worked well. so put air pipes to it nothing. then unplugged the red and black plug and tryed a 12v battery on it.. it ran the pump but slow. so then plugged red and black plug back in. started engine and front screen said rasing. the back came up very slowly. but front didnt. stayed down. is the piston in the compressor had it. plus f i put a new one in will the red light go off. or do i need to cancel codes to get it to. im at a loss. i have had RR for so many years since early 80,s but first time with a sports. i have waited since nov to drive my car. ive changed oils all fluids on this car filters. if it was a vogue i would probley have it sorted but. its disco 3 country. i need help. i want to drive it. thanks for reading my troubles. i will keep you up dated as i get along. thanks for the help in advance.

hi

u have been having fun, not , lol

sounds like ur compressor has had it , was the message displayed “ raising slowly “ then the red light came up

first of all,

1) does it drop over night
2) how long did u let the compressor run for
3) what parts we’re replaced in the compressor

hopefully that’s a start for u and can go through it stage by stage

plus it’s advisable to buy ur own diagnostic reader, gap iid are the ones to get , pays for themselves very quickly

as a side note , that front valve clicking is normal, the electronic solonoids , opens and closes in microseconds

this one you mean, right it doesnt drop over night as it slowly put a little air in the back struts only enough to lift it 2 inch but none in front it had stopped pumping before it filled them.it has stayed up at the back now for 2 days. the red light came on after one of my so called friends tryed to re calibrate it. after that the red light is on always. parts replaced desicant because it had started to powder. the seals and little pad filters. im now thinking it could be the powder in the valve in picture one ive sent, or the motor is intermittent worked once then just slow after that, but dosent come on as its senced a blockaged of some what im away this weekend in birmingham but when im back ill take the pump off and strip it properly. i have found a guy who has all the parts for all RR compressors. so ill ask him about the motor.

hi , ive also had to repair my suspension system and believe me having a diagnostic reader will save u hours of wasted time and wasted money

island 4x4 sell them for £420

as the system has when messed around with if u can buy the gap iid, as u need to establish what it going on with the system in the way of codes and live data, otherwise u just guessing and won’t get anywhere

as a min,

1) 3 x valves blocks will req removing and cleaning out of the incandescent
2) rebuild or replace compressor , ensuring new silica is replaced , there are some videos on u tube ref rebuilding them

then will req recalibrating

u may or may not have further faults, got to sort the valve blocks and compressor first then go from there

here’s the link ref the iid, as i’m afraid with these , there a must or be at the mercy of the dealers

would u be so kind to do me a favour please

put the suspension into normal height , measure from the centre of the wheel , (where the land rover badge is ) to the bottom of the wheel arch , on all four corners plse

then let me know in millimetres lse

many thks

gary

thanks Gary i will do that as soon as i can get the suspension to rise on the front. ill be at workshop in the morning so i can give you the back wheel sizes. but im taking the compressor off in the morning. to give it a good going over. because i only changed the filters last week so il look at the piston and the valve nut and whats behind it, thanks for the info. on the readers.

thks, u could always get a pressure gauge , then see what it currently is then after rebuilding it see if the pressure improves

here’s a chart of the figures ur looking for , so at least when u rebuild it u know the compressor is operating as spec

ie around 250 psi

well ive ordered a new compressor as when i took that nut out it threaded inside the casting so i cant bothered to tape and die it. i did measure the back wheels drivers side back 40cm passenger side back 42cm. still up today. air pressure came out a little from compressor when i took it off. ill put new compressor on and then let you know Gary thanks for info
