Hi all, I have a 2012 Land Rover Range Rover Sport SDV6, non runner. The car turns over freely and sounds like it is trying to start, but won’t run.

Things I’ve checked so far:
No fault codes (one fault code for a cylinder 5 glow plug circuit open), but not thing else
Looked through oil filler cap with engine cranking (cam is spinning)
Battery is new
Tried squirting brake cleaner down intake (no difference when cranking)
Checked main earth strap (drivers wheel arch one)
Unplugged each injector in turn (to see if a dodgy or shorted injector)
Looked in oil filter housing (clean)
No carbon build up on intake pipes ect
Low pressure fuel pump priming (diesel also squirts out if the valve is pressed under the bonnet - sorry I can’t think of it’s correct name)
On data shows 90psi diesel when priming, when cranking goes to 4900-5500 (approx)
Checked fuses (all good and have battery voltage)
Can also see engine speed (R.P.M) with diagnostic machine (this is around 250 RPM when cranking)
Maf sensors are responding when cranking

If any of you gurus have any more pointers how I can get it to even start up that would be much appreciated! I may have missed a few bits but ask ahead and I shall answer!

Thanks guys and girls!

Welcome to LZ.

Car new to you or bought as a dead un?

Check for crank failure.
Hiya - I bought it as a non runner due to a ghost immobiliser fault (I have since got the unlock sequence so it’s not immobilised but won’t start 🤔).

How would I go about checking the crank ? I presumed if crank was snapped it would sound like an engine with no timing belt on it, or seized 🤔

Thank you for the reply 😀
