:(Hi all I have a 04 Range Rover l322 TD6 (101000 miles). This morning I lost drive about 3 miles into my journey. If I turn off the ignition an on again it will drive again normally, (no message is given) This has happened three times now The last time a month ago.
I have also noticed that when travelling along at 40 mph (1500 revs) it feel like its missing! But the engine runs sweet when stationary.
I have just had a new Bosch air mass meter fitted to cure a smoking issue. but the missing thing still persists,
Any ideas anyone come on Bemble get your thinking cap on coz after 30 years relying on landrovers I am now losing faith in the product.

First is to check your Gearbox Oil Level....

If that is OK, it may be your box oil pump or the Torque Convertor.

Get it onto Diagnostics there may be a code stored.

Loss of drive is either a valve block fault, low oil fault, Drive Clutch Pack Fault or Torque Corvertor Fault.

A vibration around 40mph can indicate the TQ is on its way out or A Clutch is slipping slightly (more common is the TQ as the A Clutch would bring up a fault and the Tranny would go into failsafe).

Drain the fulid and see what condition its in!

Torque converter fails on these, carry on driving it you will knacker the valve block. If you haven't already.

have you had the front diff recall done ? if not what can happen is the splines on the diff input shaftand prop shaft will strip giving a total loss of drive
phone your land rover dealer quoting your vin number and they will tell you if its been done, it used to be done free of charge but may be different now :)

[sorry did not read all the post ,so my 2pence worth is not your problem]
