Just quick one to see if and how many others use there range rovers for work, either daily commute or out and about. Got talking to mate of mine who uses his pick up for everything and said I should get one (no chance, awful ride and anything in back slides to front so have to climb in to get it) I use my l322 as a family car and work (electrician) and does the job great, where I live too many vans get broke in as there’s seen as a tool shop for thieves. So anyone else use there’s for work or just home use?

think the American ones look good, doubt there any good though, neighbour used to have a Dodge Ram, thing used to roar going up hill but never seemed to make much speed, was about a 5 or 6 litre engine, he’s a joiner and said it looked good and attracted comments from people but no accessories like high top covers or roller shutter so tools went on bench seat etc, he now uses a tranny van.
My mates Ford ranger just seems expensive for what it is, £40,000 and the trim squeaks and rattles, seats are designed for something.. certainly not a normal human shape, and run fingers down door card where it meets the glass and nearly slice fingers off. All feels very cheap.
 
I've driven a few, in America, they were all good but the engine in the ford ranger super cab was too small. Really enjoyed the Chevrolet Custom Deluxe though it was nothing special, it's summed up everything American
 
I've no time for them, most are poseur-mobiles usually with a hard cover over the load area so you can't get at anything.
Rode back seat passenger in a Jap double-cab a few years ago, the seat was comparable to a park bench & the ride was so bad that I felt physically sick .. something I've never experienced in the back of an old Series 3 109.

I did 130.000miles to 208.000 miles in 3 year in my old td6 it got used a lot it towed a lot, it got tools thrown in it used it to pull trees down,
never had breakdown cover, it got towed home twice in that time, front prop flange failed and a fuel rail pressure sensor another time,
Always started always trusted it,

Just got a 4.2 supercharged its my only motor on the road, iv done 5,000 in it since i got it end of November
 
Mines considered to be my do all car.
Tow other vehicles around the yard,
Light offroading and the once a year landrover event,
Family taxi, although not so much these days,
Picking up and dropping off cylinder heads,
Camping load luggerand many things to boot.
The best thing is just to be in that nice place while driving :D
As long as I can put diesel in it I'll drive it! 242.000mls:cool:

Totally agree! Don’t know if other people agree but more you use a RR the more reliable they seem to be.
Agree about a nice place to be, was sat on m62 this morning for a hour looking around thinking my RR may be 18 year old but still more comfy than transit van or pick ups that seemed all around me.
 
Agree it's a lovely place to be when not moving, and moving :), my only gripe is the amount of juice that the radio entertainment system uses means having the engine running so you can watch the TV :D

Cheers! Take it it’s just plug and play? If I can get this sorted it may keep the other half quiet for a while..
 
Just had a quick look, my wiring is different with different plugs so take it yours is the ford era? mines the older BMW wiring, I'm guessing tv tuner is the one with white and blue plugs, Don't know what the smaller one deep in front of it is.

Use my P38 for both. Excellent for lugging heavy stuff around and hard to beat for towing.
