Hey dudes, im running a series 3 with a ford v6 engine. At high speeds the noise is terrible. I have been thinking of adding an overdrive to make cruising more relaxed. but i have heard putting range rover diffs in is just the same. Is this true and will it effect slow speed off road performance?? :)

Range Rover diffs would increse overall gearing in all gears including low range. My personal preferance would be to fit an overdrive. I believe Ashcroft do a gear kit for the transfer box that will raise the gearing for high range while leaving low range alone.......(but I still think an overdrive is the most flexible solution.)

It may well be that the V6 has sufficient grunt to cope with the higher ashcroft gearing AND an overdrive........What tyres are you running?

Oops......just realised that was my first post on here....and I haven't introduced myself properly......so I'm off to the 'Introduce yourself properly' section so that I can properly introduce myself.
