I need to replace the front driving lights on my RRC 1991.

After much swearing and removal of skin, I have managed to loosen the 2x 17mm bolts each side..............but now they just go round and round. I cannot see how to remove these bolts totally.

Do I need to take the front wheels off and get the angry grinder out?

Thanks.

Are removing the whole front spoiler first or are you trying to remove the lamp mounts while still on the car?

Still on the car.

That'll be most of the difficulty then. Pop the spoiler off and it will be quite clear about what's what. Should take 5 mins to remove the spoiler then you'll be able to see properly how the lamps are actually fixed in place - essentially they are part of the spoiler.

If you have the original owners hand book it tells you in there. One thing to watch though is the 4 nuts on top of the lamp housings - basically these are just small set screws welded to the inside of the bumper - they rust, you go to undo them - they shear off!!!!!

To update this:

I tried to remove the spoiler, but after 21 years it wasn't having any of it.

In the end, I removed the front wheels and got in there with the angry grinder: three hours to do the lot but all finished now. Nice new shiny lamps fitted now

Thanks for the help!
