Hi everyone!

I have very recently acquired a 1991 Range Rover Classic 3.9 EFI.

My dad had one when I was a child and I’ve always wanted one. It’s fair to say what I have bought is a bit of a project but aren’t they all! I am hoping to restore her (rust in the usual places) but need to get her running first to see what I am really dealing with.

I have found that the under drivers seat relays are missing. I know that one should be a diode type but I have spent ages searching the internet to understand the 3 relays I need with no luck. Is anyone able to tell me what 3 relays I need so that I can get them ordered?

To clarify these are the 3 relays that go under the drivers seat next to the ECU.

Thank you and I look forward to hopefully sharing some progress on here soon.

Thanks for the link! I might be being stupid but I can seem to find the section that contains those relays on that site? I can’t see any part numbers either, am I missing something?

That’s really useful thank you. Does the workshop manual provide part numbers or specs for the relay? My issue is that mine have all been removed so I don’t know what type of relay is supposed to be in there.

Workshop manual will show what goes where (incl wiring diagrams which will help with wire colours) & the name of the part which makes it easier when searching for parts.
I believe yours will be on the RAVE disc which IIRC can be found for free download and/or for sale on ebay etc.
Earlier RRC manuals are big thick books - mine's an '86 & the RAVE doesn't have the coverage of some of its bits.

This might be of help:

91 RRC, same as mine! I believe 91 was a change over year so going forward be aware that some parts may actually be from the 1990 model - ABS axles are a good example. As for relays under the seat, two are the diode type, 30A for main EFI power and Fuel pump, there is no part number as such, just make sure you get the correct pin arrangement. The EFI and Fuel Pump relays are 5 pin with two 87 pins, the original items were metal cased Bosch relays : 0332014112.

Then you should have a tall green timer relay, part number for that is PRC7413, CONTROL UNIT FAN TIMER. There is another relay, a green one, this is the cruise control relay. hope that sorts it for you.
