My 1994 Classic scared me yesterday.

It is a 3.9 SE dual fuel, air suspension, 76000 miles FSH and serviced very recently. Since buying it I have been doing 400/week without drama until yesterday.

I was joining the M25 at speed when their was a huge clonk as if something had hit the floorpan hard.

I pulled over and checked the wheel nuts, exhaust and ride height (air suspension has been fine and all seems well still). There seemed nothing wrong so I assumed I'd been hit by a stone.

Hence I set off and drove home but experienced twice only a sensation like a tyre was deflating when the whole vehicle seemed to lurch and steering correction was needed - there was no noise however other than me whimpering. On one of these two occasions I thought I might lose control.

This morning I had Kwik-Fit at the end of my road check the wheels and tyres and give the underside a once over, expecially the shocks but they found nothing.

I have used it today but when heading home and accelerating I had one more bang, just as loud as yesterday but no other symptoms.

Before I get it trailered to a specialist does anyone have any thoughts - I have access to 2/4 post lifts.

Many thanks

Nick
