Hi all,
Since my purchase last year of my P38, my brother has been in awe of the Rangey (who can blame him for that!?:)). He has now decided (on a budget) to get a classic... :D
I'll be getting the classic at mine tonight to carry out what looks to be a significant number of electrical faults! (I'm pretty good with electrics and have a Haynes to work from too -so that is not a problem unless things get really complex!) It also has virtually no braking power . This I suspect is something to do with the brake pump. Are these hard to replace? The classic is a (1992) 3.9 Vogue SE. To be fair, it doesn't seem to be too bad so far as bodywork goes (the interior is another matter though...) and has very little rust that I can see. It is going to be his "Restoration Project" - but it would seem it will be me doing the restoration! (I am going to be on here with problems from time to time I expect!) I look forward to the time and cash he will now be spending to own a classic! I would advise he joins this website, but he's not that knowlagable when it comes to mechanics and has less than no idea about electrics! But at least another Rangey is saved from imminent scrapping to be restored to something worth owning...:)
I'll keep you all posted on the progress (and problems) I encounter!

i've been having the very same nightmare with my brakes, i've replaced all the pads calipers and disks, but i can't bleed them.
Appartently when you turn the ignition on, the abs pump should run, however mine didn't so i did some various checks, (live feed, earth, power probe etc...) and found that it was somewhat shafted!
After endless hours of trawling the internet, i found a brakers yard, who seem to be very helpful and are going to send me a replacement pump when they get the donor car back from decontamination.
Apparently they guarantee the parts and the chap offered it to me at a very reasonable £75 (as opposed to the standard £395-£495 from a dealer)
Only problem is, is that ive gotta wait for 2-3 weeks for it :violin:
so im not a happy bunny. I'll try keep you posted if you like, but for the time being, here's the guy's number: Avenger 4X4, 01733 266690

Good luck!!!
