Hello,
I have a Range Rover Classic with the VM 2.5 TD engine which has developed a starter motor problem.
I would like to get some guidance as to how difficult it would be to replace the starter motor of this particular Range Rover outside without garage facilities. It only seems to be attached to the bell housing by two bolts.
Thanks

I have only ever seen that engine in a boat, but first disconnect the battery, then undo the wires on the solenoid and finally the two big bolts and there you have it. If the car is installation is different, someone will be along to correct me shortly:) @frog hopper

Clean the wire connectors to the starter also and go over the battery to earth and battery to alternator connections just so you know everything is clean and passing current easily ;)

Have not bothered to have a look as I have been suffering with the virus, better now, so if you want me to have a look give me a pm.
