Hi,

I'm hoping this question has not been asked to many times, but has any one had any useful experience with this type of conversion?

My friends scenario is this:
He has what was originally 2.5 litre diesel series III 109" land rover that now sports a Transit 2.5 DI engine.

Sadly the Transit lump has let go of a con rod.

He also has a complete Range Rover, which although mechanically is in good order, needs some welding and body work. The RR has the 2.4 turbo diesel VM engine.

What do you guys reckon to puting the RR engine in the Series? The series III still has the series gearbox, or has had a couple of series gearboxes since the conversion to the Transit lump and it is envisaged that this new conversion would include the RR engine and gearbox.

All contribution welcome. (What about swapping the RR for a good transit lump or anyone out there with any interest in the rest of the RR?)

Thanks
Edd
