Hi,

What's the best way of stopping rain coming through the top front corner off the drivers/passenger doors? This happens when it's parked on a downward slope and it's raining hard, or driving in hard rain. The door rubbers are mostly good, just in that corner there is a gap between the door and roof/windscreen. The water then travels down behind the dash and soaks the mats, or and onto my right foot when driving.

I know it's an old series, but any ideas? Many thanks for any help.

The only idea I had was some mastic/sealant filling the gap.

try some draught excluder foam around the inside edge of the door itself.

A mate I work with has the same problems. He took the truck cab apart and when reassembling it used dumdum on all the joints. He also took all the carpet out and puts a plastic bag over his right foot when its raining:) Sounds like your problem may be panel alignment check the external gaps around the leaky door and adjust to get best fit. Are the hinges worn?

Treworgey 90, thx, didn't think of that.

Disco Inferno, thx, what's dumdum?
"He also took all the carpet out and puts a plastic bag over his right foot when its raining" LOL, though of that.
Hinges ok, there is a gap, mainly between the door rubbers on the corner.

Thx again for both of your help.

Again a stab in the dark... is the door top seated correctly and is the rubber strip between door and door top in good condition or completly had it? Might give you a smidge more hight to the door top closing that gap up a bit.
Dum Dum DUMDUML Dum Dum Glazing Putty - 1.5kg Very sticky waterproof stuff ;)
Not exactly the purist way of putting a landy together but he reports less draughts and less water but still a wet foot (Mainly from sweating in a plastic bag I think)

Excellent stuff, many thx again.

Both door and rubber in reasonably good condition, though there is a small gap between the top of the door and topp corner of the rubber.

Thx again, Mark

I find that leaving it in the garage and using the jelly mould car that starts every time you turn the key instead stops the landy getting wet but wheres the fun in that?
