Has anyone fitted a non Land Rover radio and had problems with the radio set not keeping the station settings?
just thought I would ask before I start ripping the looms out, I have used the default connectors that the old radio used and the pin outs look ok.
You can turn the ignition off and switch it back on after 30secs and the settings are still there, leave it any longer and they go.

You need to make sure that the stereo recieves a constant power from the battery, At the moment the stereo is just holding it internaly untill all the curcuits use all the residual power.

You may need an adaptor loom or simply find the correct pins and ree arrange them to suit.

You have 2 positive feeds, one is a permanent, one an ignition live. Common problem not all connectors use the same set up on feeds.
Find the 2 positives, and switch them round.
Sorted.

Thanks for the info, will try again tomorrow, also the strange thing that happens is it also resets the clock on the dash board  .
Will post on the out come.

AAAhhh you never mentioned the clock on your first post.
Im with yella on this, the clock has been used somewhere in the feeds for the radio, probably the earth.
Ive done that in the past, bad idea.

It was because I never noticed it also resetting, that was fixed due to a fuse blowing, there was a loose purple and white wire not doing any thing in the radio loom that touched the metal work and arc'd, will get the volt meter in there to see which one has a perm feed.

Sorted!
The purple and white cable was the radio memory supply, for some reason, I can only suggest is that the landy radio was replaced with another unit and the cable had been cut out of the iso block, connected it in to the normal loom and all the settings stay as they should. :D
