I got mine last year from Advanced Radiators (Advanced Radiators: Buy Car Radiators & Car Heaters Online Today!). Cost me around 100 quid with free delivery. Mine is a 1997 V8 so no doubt there are differences. Well recommended.
If it's the plastic header that's split, I have seen that mentioned a few times. It may be that they are prone to failure. When you get the new rad, before you fit it do the marble test to see if the centre baffle is in place. Drop a marble or smooth stone in one pipe entry, tilt the rad, if the stone come out of the other pipe entry, the rad is no good.
Thanks for that advice Keith,
With that in mind I'm going to ring the company some of the guys have mentioned and ask them about the baffle.
I'm really hoping it's only the rad and nothing more serious as the tax and mot are both dew as well! :-(
my understanding was that road tax??? was incorporated in with Insurance?Road taxNone of that nonsense over here
Just pay if I want to use the autoroute, plus the MOT is every 2 years

No absolutely not. My insurance is no dearer than it was in the UK, includes europe wide recovery and unlimited travel with comprehensive cover and a hire car if needed after a breakdown, plus limited hotel or train expenses. None of the UK 90 days maximum Europe cover for a hefty fee as I had with UK insurancemy understanding was that road tax??? was incorporated in with Insurance?
Not if you are working and have kids, a married couple with 4 kids will pay no tax on 60K pa. Very good also for a pensioner on a modest income, my tax rate last year was 4.7%. Social charges are another matter, an employer will pay almost as much in social charges for an employee as they pay in salary, but at least we have a health service that works for the money. I pay no social charges on my pension as the charges are paid by the UK governmentDo you know I had a feeling you were going to remind me about that!
My friend loves to remind me that the land of wine and cheese is a little forgiving to the car driver!
Mind you isn't income tax a bit steep over there?
Guys,
I'm looking for a supplier of this metal rad. It's the 2nd one i see on a P38 here in France.
