after flushing my rad on a series 3 1976 and draining it only five litters of cooland and water 50/50 would fit back in do i need to run the engine until its warm? thanks:)

Run the engine but keep an eye on the level in the rad. Be careful as it will be hot to touch. It should fill up when warm and starts to flow.

still working out how to introduce myself but thanks for the reply i will try that the problem is the series 3 take soooooo long to get up to temp esp at the moment anyway

thanks from the new boy with a '76 series 3 in the new forest i will get out there once the rain slows a bit.

found a quick way to get the s3 upto temp when flushing the rad..use the emergency tin foil blanket from a first aid box .put it behind the grill..run it around the block 3-5 minutes its up to temp so the fluids start going around the engine.collybobs
