Hi All , I've a chance to get a good r380 box from a D2 td5 to replace the knackered one in my Defender 300tdi . I can use the 300tdi bellhousing and an adaptor on the selector quadrant to refit the Defender gearshift . How difficult is it to change the input shaft of the td5 with one from the 300tdi ? I've searched online but can't find a guide on how to do this . Is it a very difficult job ? I hope someone can point me in the right direction , thanks .

Iirc the whole lot comes out of the rear end, and involves the use of a press?

So the entire box has to be pulled apart to replace the input shaft ?
