I've already got a pair of spoptlights on my roof bar (ring road runner spot lights) and was wondering if it's worth using a pair of fog rather than spot beam pattern for the outer 2 brackets to illuminate the area a bit. Or should I just stick with the driving light pattern?
Might sound daft but any thoughts?
 
I would go with the fog lights, a mate of mine has done this and it works a treat when drivind off road at night runs.
 
Also, what's the best way of attaching a beafy live for all the aux lights to the battery? by this I mean which physical connector should I use? Also, which connector should I use to take multiple cables off of this main live?

My mate took his to a spark to fit them, £30 all in and no need to worry if it will or won't go on fire.

lots of diagrams and guides to doing this on ere. basically wire each pair seperately and use a relay for each pair of lamps.

55watt bulb x 2 = approx 10 amps 100watt x 2 = approx 17.5 (round up to 20amps)
 
Wouldn't bother with the fogs, I fitted 2xDriving Lamps and 2xFogs as you suggest when i replaced the bar I had half inched... having compared the two I bought 2 more spots and fitted them instead, will be fitting the fogs to the rear soon!

If you need to ask the question of how to wire them up, the post above sounds like a very good plan!

Cheers guys, I know how to wire everything properly, done it a few times before, I'll just need beafier wire going to the battery for them and I just want to know what type of physical connector I'll need to attach an extra heavy duty live to the batt.
 
Basically it'll have 580w going through it for the various different light sets up, so what type of cable would I need going to the battery?

wot the fook do you need almost 600watts of lighting for? yu trying to emulate Wembley stadium?
 
Well I have a pair of 130w spots at the minute, soon to be another pair, then a 50 or 60w rear work light. Soon adds up!

Make sure you have a spare alternator belt with you for when it snaps due to the loading :doh:

maybe 420watts of lighting power is a bit much, on 3 circuit max load per circuit is 20amps :D

Hmm, good point, maybe the next lot, should be 50w each! Would that be too much for the alternator? 400 ok?
