Greetings! Over several years I have owned a Disco 3, 4 and currently a 5. The ‘4’ was supremely capable off-road, but regrettably I find the paintwork on the ‘5’ is not robust enough to scrape down narrow lanes and brush past scrub. So I have just bought a 1995 300 TDi Defender 90 for work which involves a lot of off-road activity. I look forward to not having to cringe every time I hear that expensive scratching sound, but I realise the Defender will require a lot more of my attention than the Disco 5! A list of ‘improvements‘ is in mind too and I have already found the forum pages here informative and helpful.
