Hi all...
So heres the thing, my '89 110 will need its transfer box rebuilding as it seems to have lost low range This isn't too much of a problem as I wanted to have both the boxes rebuilt anyway. My question is, is it worth me looking at other options for transfer boxes? The old 19j didn't really like motorway speeds with the standard setup, I've since fitted a tweeked 200tdi from a discovery with a full size front mounted intercooler but I'm yet to give it a road test. Tyre wise I'll be running 255/85-16's and carrying a fair bit of extra weight in the form of roll cage and roof tent etc. I've been told that fitting a disco transfer box will help with higher cruising speeds but I'm not sure if it will cope with the taller tyres and extra weight and just be too sluggish in the lower gears. If anyone has any experience in this area I'd be grateful of some advice before I shell out for a rebuild on a transfer box I might be changing!
Cheers all!
