I took out a thing with the AA that cast £65 and it said if they could fix your car at the side of the rooad they would take you to a garage and pay upto £500, now my park brake fault light keeps coming on and i cant use my parking sensors, does anyone know if that will be cover by the said AA scheme?

My guess is probably not as it wont be classed as a breakdown if you are still able to drive the vehicle.

I "Recovered" a Disco yesterday because its park brake was in-op, but it was under warranty (55 plate). Not sure if it could have been done as a roadside repair, but certainly worth giving them a shout.

I've got the same cover... you will need to have broken down and been attended to by a patrol to see what's faulty before the cover kick's in. I blagged £500 (less £25 excess) when the transfer box went on our's, got the garage to fit recon gearbox too to maximise the payout;)

can someone post me a link to this AA cover that costs £65 ( i assume that's a year) and includes £500 of bills please - I can only find the £69 cover that includes bugger all

I had a policy much like that thru Britannia, it was an add on to your recovery policy and cost £45.

The only stipulation was that the vehicle had to be recovered by them to a garage

This seems to be the offer in question :
Breakdown Repair Cover : replacement parts and labour - The AA
but....I note the condition :
Once you've nominated a vehicle for Breakdown Repair Cover, you'll need to keep it serviced in line with the manufacturer's recommendations. Servicing must be done by a suitable garage business.

I guess that lets most of us out!!!!

Still....AA membership also gets you 20% off Burger King at MOTO service stations :D

RAC will pay out £1200 per repair and maximum of 6 claims per year, much better than The AA's current deal

but i'd guess you'd have to produce a fully stamped service book before they even start to think about paying out ?

so how do you join the fire brigade....do you just send em a fiver or summit??

I'm sure theres summit about the cars being less then 10 yr old too

That was the case a few years back, but they realised they were losing out on subscriptions so most car's are accepted now .... they accepted our Disco and it's nearly 16 yrs old.
