My 200 tdi was working fine, I thought I would give it a treat and poured in some injector cleaner. Since then it has been putting out some black smoke when under load. I have changed the air filter and diesel filter; I discovered a turbo hose had split so I have renewed all the turbo hose for silicon ones.
It doesn't burn much oil. I never have to top up the oil in between services.
The amount of smoke seems to vary depending on the atmospheric conditions I think. Is there anything else one should check before seriously thinking about injectors and replacement. Its done about 150 thousand miles. Starts on the button even down in -18 C; Runs sweet. Will cruise at 70/75 mph without any problems in fact the faster I go the less it smokes, its just when getting up there.
Any suggestions please.

I have ignored the smoke and it seems to have disappeared. It got through the MOT so can't be bad.

Hi,

Just to let you know:
"Black" smoke is cause but over loading, eg Not enough air in the mix.
"White" smoke is cause by excess / unburnt fuel. Could be leaking injectors ect......
"Blue" smoke is caused by burning oil. Could be rings, turbo, or leaking valve stem oil seals etc....
