Hi all...friend just looked at a p38 and said when he was sat in traffic or on idle he would put his foot on and off on the break and can hear some sort of a pump going on and off and sometimes 3lites pop up on the dash and when driving and coming to break pops up sometimes? Any ideas?

The pump is the ABS accumulator. Should come on every 4-5 presses of brake pedal. More often than that or in fact every time means the accumulator needs changing. Seems like this is well in need of changing.

Cool thanks for that change the hole lot or just the accumultar??

If its running too often then usually a change in accumulator will sort it. Pretty easy to do, procedure in RAVE.
Not sure with the lights coming on if it's a bigger problem though? Mine was running every second brake press (no lights) so changed it & all ok.

Change accumulator, check fluid level.
