... Cause the steering to go really heavy.
When I go through water on the left hand side the steering goes heavy for about 10 seconds after leaving a puddle then goes back to normal.
Any ideas? Only does it on the left wheel.
Thanks

Some sort of shield, maybe cut from a plastic under tray, strategically placed to prevent the water splashing into that part of the engine bay

I used to make mud shields out of the sides of old 25l oil drums for my Ninety, stop the water and mud getting thrown on to the top of the outriggers.

Thanks for the quick reply, anything I can do about it? Or just deal with it?

IME, it's quite likely that the belt is close to worn out, and/or the tensioner has gone weak over time - both of which are going to make matters worse .....

New belt ( IMHO Gates only ) is about £20, new tensioner a bit more .....

This of course assumes that the inner wngs are still present and correct and doing their job, and that the PS pump is not close to kaput, and thus harder to drive than "normal", ..... and the fluid is both in good nick and at the correct level ..... ( amongst other things )....
