Hi, Thanks for allowing me into the group. I have a quick question please. I've had my Defender for 2 leak free years. In the last few days I've noticed a small puddle of water forming on the ground under the engine on the front passenger side of the car after I've been driving it for maybe 20 minutes.

The water is clear and I'm fairly sure it isn't washer fluid as it has no odour and the washer bottle is full. Similarly, although I did find a single drop of coloured water on the chassis similar to coolant, the majority is absolutely clear and it can be seen running down the chassis from somewhere in the engine bay. The coolant level is fine and hasn't dropped.

It looks like the sort of condensation that you get from aircon but mine is only a CSW with no aircon and it's never done it before. the only thing that has changed is that I recently had a Stage 1 remap and EGR delete carried out but I've covered 1000 miles since then and the car drives well and the temp seems fine.

Is this something that I should worry about or has anyone else seen anything similar?

I'd be really grateful for any suggestions especially because I'm over in Europe with it at the minute and I don't want to do anything that will cause me problems further down the line.

Thanks so much!

If it’s not rainwater that has pooled-up somewhere, then it must be coolant or screen wash, it won’t be condensation. Get a UV dye and torch kit, add to the coolant and check for leaks, then the screen wash and check for leaks. Having the UV dye in the coolant isn’t a bad thing anyway, I always have some in mine and it makes for good preventative maintenance.
