Hopefully someone will know the answer to this one!

Is there a differnce in the PSI P38 diesel chip for the earlier (95-99) and (00-02) models? Basically, will one fit the other? They are categorised on the PSI Motorsport webiste under the different age bracket however the connector code is identical which makes me think either would fit any age P38?

I didn't realise and nor did my partner that there was a difference between the two?

Many thanks!

The fuel pump or its ECU for the diesel never changed throughout the production of P38 (the petrol one did in 99)

There was an early chip which is analogue and takes its input from the MAP sensor. The later chip is electronic and just uses the fuel map.

I assume the listed difference is to do with the introduction of EGR in 99 or else change in 99 from sagem to bosch for the vehicle electronics.

I know the early chip will work on all models, not certain about the later chip working on early models but I can't think why it wouldn't.
