Here's a challenge for you! In 1993, I had a school work experience at the fabled Solihull factory. This included two days wrecking prototypes at Eastnor Castle as a thank you to the people who moved the Range Rover classic production lines (preparing for the new Rangie which I was fortunate enough to see).

My schoolboy dream came true when one bloke asked if I wanted to drive one of the cars. So, I found myself behind the wheel of a 200Tdi Auto prototype! Reg no J34 VKV, it was a white 5dr. Checked the reg on the DVLA systems and it us currently showing as a 3dr!

Anyone know if this car is still knocking about? If it is, it must have had a new engine as we managed to fill it with muddy water at one point.

I'm thinking of getting a Discovery myself but perhaps one that was treated a little better would be good! Still, would be nice to know if my first drive is still out there.

By the way, I spent my whole work experience week working on the 300 series Disco's (95MY) so you can imagine how exciting that was, especially as I spent most of the week with the V8 team!
