I'm building a hybrid of such and the distance from the trans brake to the rear axle flange is turning out to be around 16" with the motor slammed against the bulkhead.

Will this be a problem? I was hoping to keep the trans brake behind the trailing arm bracket on the chassis but as it turns out its just behind by about an inch.

Any advice/thoughts on the length?

Articulation and axle droop could be considered differently though.

The axle can drop one wheel quite far without the prop moving, because the other wheel goes up so it just pivots on the ball joint.

Obv the shorter prop limits axle droop, and 16" is probably too short.

Look at a front prop, they're what, 24" ish, and extreme use requires a double cardon.

You're gonna have to look at having a custom prop made maybe with double joints at each end.

If it doesn't need a lot of axle droop (ie when the diff drops, not a wheel) then you might manage it.

Cheers.
