yes they were on about it in the motoring press the other week, it will bring the uk in line with the rest of europe, the only set back is that the 2 yr test is a lot stricter than the 1 yr

Just tryin to appease the motorist a bit and take the heat out of road charging.
would certainly increase the number of death traps on the road - with current regime, 30% fail, so if the test is every 2 years then about half the cars on the road will be dodgy - hmmmm!

ffs, my car would do 60k between tests - doh
whatever numpty though that one up wants kickin

no yer prick they are done every 2 years, that means the first test is when its 2 yrs old not 4

the failure rate is very missleading.
all the chaps i know send their cars in just to see what the local monkey will fail it on.
then do the work req.

yup, im the same, i take mine in then repair what it fails on, that way you aint doin any unneccesary work ;)

yea - and if they didn't have to have a test fer anuvva 12 months they'd be runnin around with those faults....

Did you read the article you prick

quote: The new proposals also mean that new cars will not have their first test until they are four rather than three years old.

aye thats in the daily mail ffs they couldnt make their mind up if they wanted a fart or a ****, in the motoring press, which i think is a bit more credible, they said 2 years from new

N0 the first M.O.T test will be when the car is 4 years old and then every 2 years i am in the trade and i have heard the test fee could cost £150:mad:

This is what I read in the paper this week:

MOTs will be every 2 years.
Because this will adversely affect a lot of garages etc the fee will go up to around £100
Vehicles over 10 years old (ie the majority of landrovers) will still have to be tested every year so we will lose out big style by paying £100+ every year.

You dont think they bring in new rules to save US money do you? come on this is labour the taxation champions.

When I lived in New Zealand I had to MOT (WOF) my car every 6 months.
