Righty ho, i've got a rough idea of price for some proper exhaust guards, not the Bearmach tubular style ones, the design will be similar to the one Mantec used to make.
It will come with the receiver hitch bracket painted in black, but no receiver hitch (as the hassle of getting it EU approved will be prohibitive, unless enough people want a proper receiver hitch with shackle attachment) So it will literally be the section which bolts to the car with the bar between with tapped holes in the bottom to mount the guard.
The guard will be 8mm Aluminium, laser cut with holes and slots to aid airflow and removal of the crap which will build up in it.

A complete kit would be supplied, including all required fixings.

My list price would be somthing like £225 Inc Vat + Delivery

If i can get a minimum of 5 people to commit at a time, i can do them for £200 delivered.

If you already have a tow bar attachment fitted, and therefore just need the guard, the price will be around £130 delivered, as aluminium prices are bloody expensive at the moment!

Prices will be confirmed in the next day or two, and the first ones should be in production in just over a week's time, and may be ready for delivery from 2 weeks today.

Any questions, gimme a shout.

Sounds good to me, do you have any pictures as just try to establish how it would work with my current v shaped flange towbar.
Have you received much interest?

Yeah I've got a couple of definite orders on other forums, just trying to finalise a price with the laser cutters. It's looking likely that the final price will be about £150 to make it worthwhile my time to do them.

In the morning I'll post up a CAD pdf file of the design so you can get an idea for how it'll look. Are you able to send me a pic or 3 of your receiver hitch so I can see whether it'll work or not?

Looks good to me and I'm pleased you have received some positive feedback from other forums etc.
looking at the drawings and my receiver, the only issue could be the size of the opening on the guard and the extra width of my receiver bar but I'm guessing I should be able to open up the guard a little on the rear edge to squeeze my bar through. Have a look at my pictures and see what you think? Sorry they aren't brilliant but she is unmovable at the moment and on front ramps so its a bit tight to get under the rear.

Where will i find your pics? I've had a look through threads you've posted on here and cant find anything.

If you've got something which would give me a rough idea of size of your hitch i can look at it, the opening size is 80mm so its pretty wide. You've also got 44mm to the start of each hole from the centre opening, so there is scope if you need to slightly modify it.

It bolts up in 4 positions to the receiver hitch cross bar, the Land Rover ones apparently have 4 holes already in them, don't know if yours does. If not, you'd need to drill and tap them (i can give you the relevant information if you need to do this)

hi i would be interested any pics

Unfortunately no pics as yet, first batch are about to start production.

Sizes are as per the Mantec guard (got one fitted to my car so can send you any amount of photos of that), but with my own design as shown above to keep it legit.

The final price is going to be in the region of £150/£155, due to a recent increase in raw aluminium prices at the stockholders which i unfortunately have no control over!

If you need the receiver hitch, this will be extra, let me know and i can do a deal on buying both together.

Simon.

For some reason it won't attach my pictures, if your ok with it PM me your email addy and I'll mail them direct to you

Mine has been ground back to remove the surface corrosion after straightening it out.

But thats how it'll look, but with the design shown above. The holes are smaller than the Mantec ones (apart from the two which surround the lashing strap points on the bottom) and all slots are replaced with holes.

Hi Simon

Can you put my name down for one and PM me an invoice so I can arrange payment.
Many thanks with the assistance you have provided with regards to modifying it to fit my Hippo

Cheers
Chris

Hi Chris,
Will email you a PayPal invoice later when i get it sorted as discussed.

4 guards now spoken for out of initial batch of 9.

Ideally would like another 2-3 forum guys to give me more than 5 at the discounted price.

Simon

what if you got a tow bar fitted

Depends which towbar you have fitted, if its got a cross bar like this one below, then it'll fit and bolt up same as mantec one (if your cross bar doesn't have 4 holes across it, then you'll need to drill and tap them), if its different then you'll need a completely different mounting bar which i may be able to help with.

4 of the first batch of 9 are now sold and paid for, 5 left.
£155 for the guards delivered, or £230 including a mounting bracket (with no receiver). Prices include new fittings.
