Hi everyone

Looking for some advice. Looking to purchase a freelander 3 door. Will be turned into a weekender. Looking through facebook market place lots of vehicles with test sub 1k qhich is where i want to be. Lots with prop shaft removed but available. Why is this. I have sent messages but no one replies. Has anyone any experience with this prop shaft business.

If you post this question in the Freelander section you'll get the full story but basically the Viscous Coupling Unit (VCU) seizes up due to lack of use(?). The whole drive train 'winds up' identifiable by scuffing on the outer edges of the rear tyres, though it is possible to hide this by fitting new, or unscuffed tyres, before a sale.
