........ coming back from Anglesey the UV joint on the front prop shaft exploded (and i mean went with a right bang shooting bits at innocent passers by!)

The rear prop shaft is fine.

So here is the daft question. If the front prop shaft is discconnected (which it is even if it wasnt intentional) should there still be drive to the rear wheels or would you lose all drive. And if there should be does that mean ive probably lost the transfer box too?>

Thanks in Advance

Yes u will loose all drive. select diff-lock and you'll have drive at the rear axel, but take care it should be used as a means of get-u-home.

D1 so it might have coasted to a stop or you would have slowed it with braking faster than it would have rolled to a stop.

Lock the centre diff, remove whats left and crack on.

Thanks. its only to get me 15ft into the unit. When they build the unit some numpty thought it would be a good idea to have a slope leading UP to the door - and im not feeling quite that strong!!

Thanks for your help

You can drive them a while in 2wd with the diff locked.
I snapped a half shaft in Wales and had to drive it home and for work for a week before I could get a replacement
