Ordered a replacement hardy spicer front prop. Disconcertingly supplied by britpart but is an HS stamped unit.

comes with UJs already installed

Anyone know of these are also hardy spicer brand UJs, I would assume so but assumption is the mother of all **** ups?

Helpfully one of the caps had shattered... not a reassuring delivery

I don't know who makes them, I do know I have fitted Britpart boxed propshafts in the past without issues.
Not sure why the cap has shattered, I would send it back, and ask for another one complete.
Assuming this is a shaft with grease nipples on the UJs and sliding joint, make sure you grease them fully during installation, there is not much in them ex factory.

Good advice. Yeh I called them, they're sending a replacement and don't want the old one back. Bit of a result as it just needs a new UJ and its as good as new. Got me spare.

This is probably a stupid question. Putting the new props on today. Rear one went on fine but how can I shop the transfer box end from turning when putting the front one on?

The rear one is easy as you can just put hand brake on to hold everything still.
