I've been rebuilding my landy for 5 years! I bought a new galv chassis for it. Mine is ex Mod do it has a 1 ton chassis but a 2.25 engine.

I've skipped all old rusty parts and when I went to fit my nice new shiny props they dont fit!

The front is about 2" to short even fully extended.
The rear is bottoming out on the chassis a while flange dia before the prop and diff flanges meet. Tub is not on though so hoping the weight will solve that problem!

But the front I'm stumped... is there a specific, longer prop for a 1 ton chassis? ..

Any advice much appreciated

Might help

What did you order

Just had exactly the same problem. As you say the rear is sorted out if you preload the springs before you tighten the bush bolts up properly, that and the weight of the body and everything else should stop that rubbing on the chassis.
As for the front I went to put the prop back on after a total stripdown and it seemed about an inch too short.....fitted fine before the rebuild so a bit stumped. There was just enough room to get the bolts started so pulled it together that way but couldn't understand why it was such a hassle as it was the same prop I took off!
As an aside where is the total length measured from, is it the UJ hole centres or the end of the yoke?
