Mmm..food for thought...might try a cheeky offer (and take my mechanic,hoping seller is stupid)

They're looking for £1250...and I know a minted,had everything done it needed went for that recrently.

What do you think i should try?

With MOT due next month £4-500 if it's otherwise in good nick.

Discos are going for peanuts if you look in the right places, regularly see much newer ones finishing for three figure sums on ebay.

Defenders are another matter though

£950 MAX, if they don't like it walk away there is plenty around nowdays plus the car market is dead.

I just bought a 94 tdi disco with 8 months mot and 3 months tax for 600 quid and I reckon I've paid a bit too much if I'd waited I'd have got one a bit cheaper.

Yep, especially for old, big engined uneconomical 4x4s and luxury cars!

You'd be even more shocked if you were looking at prices for BMW 5 series and Vauxhall Omegas, land rovers are positively desirable next to stuff like that, used car forecourts are full of the things because nobody wants em
